IDCAC 2026

We are thrilled to welcome you to the webpage of The Third International Doctoral Conference on Advances in Chemistry, a conference (mainly) for PhD candidates organised (mainly) by PhD candidates. The conference will take place on November 6 and 7, 2026 in the Dejvice campus, Prague, Czechia.

Scope & Sessions

If you are a PhD candidate or a post-doc (max 8 years after PhD, maternity leave excluded) working in chemistry, life sciences, material sciences, or data science, this conference welcomes you and your contributions in the following sessions:

7. Data Analysis and AI in Science and Technology

  • 13:15–13:45 — Registration (Building A)
  • 14:00–14:15 — Opening
  • 14:15–14:45 — Invited lecture: Katarina Vazdar, Researcher at Heyrovsky Institute, CAS & CSO at Eyveris ("Taking Science Beyond the Lab: The Eyveris Challenge")
  • 14:45–15:15 — Networking & light refreshments
  • 15:15–15:45 — Invited lecture: Jorge Servert Lerdo de Tejada, PhD candidate at The University of Manchester & entrepreneur at Lazuli ("Lazuli: Making a deep-tech start-up on your terms")
  • 16:00–17:30 — Guided tour of UCT Prague & NTK
  • 17:30 — Transfer to social evening at a traditional Czech pub
    (Pre-registration via conference form required; expenses covered individually.)

  • 09:00–11:30 — Parallel sessions & coffee breaks
  • 11:30–12:45 — Lunch (Cafe Prostoru, NTK)

  • 17:30–18:10 — Closing remarks & best presentation awards

Presentations

Participants will have the opportunity to deliver an oral presentation. Posters and passive attendance are not supported.

Presentation details:

• Language: English
• Format: PPTX or PDF, 16:9 aspect ratio
• Length: 10 minutes (+ approx. 5 minutes Q&A)

Speakers are kindly asked to:

• Name presentations as [SessionNumber]_[Surname].pptx or .pdf (e.g., 5_Novak.pptx).
• Upload presentations no later than 06.11.2026 (23:59).

Presentation upload

In-person participants will have the opportunity to upload slides directly to the session computer during the coffee break prior to their slot. A virtual pointer (Logi Spotlight) will be provided so virtual attendees can follow screen cues.

Virtual speakers will share their screens. Hybrid presenters are encouraged to secure a quiet environment with a stable internet connection and to enable their camera. Zoom will be used for all remote sessions; access links will appear in the detailed programme.

Venue

The in-person conference will be held at the Dejvice Campus in the buildings of the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (Technická 5, Prague 6, Czech Republic).

Parking is available upon reservation via the registration form.

Those unable to attend in person are welcome to join online. The Zoom link will be provided once the programme is finalised.

Fees

We are pleased to inform you that thanks to our partners, the conference is free of charge to all active participants. In-person participants will be able to enjoy complimentary coffee breaks and lunch at UCT Prague. Don't forget to let us know about your dietary preferences and restrictions in the registration form.

Accommodation

If you require accommodation in Prague, UCT Prague dormitories/hotel offer discounted rates (~18 EUR/night per person) at K Verneráku 950, Prague (~1 hour from campus by public transport).

If interested, please indicate this in your registration form. You are welcome to stay before or after the conference to explore Prague.

Visa & Travel to Czechia

If you are not an EU national or Schengen visa holder, you may require a visa. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can issue confirmation of attendance and accommodation. While these letters do not guarantee visa issuance, they support your application.

Registration

Registration for all active participants (= those presenting) was open until October 9, 2026, or until the capacity had been is reached.

Registration for all sessions is now closed.

We kindly ask participants to retain the registration confirmation email (sent automatically upon registration) to update preferences if needed, as the link remains active until registration closes.

Abstract

Abstracts will be published in conference proceedings (with ISBN & DOI) under a CC BY licence.

Participants are kindly asked to:

• Use the provided abstract template (please download it and write directly into it; do not just copy styles).
• Keep contributions within the 6,000-character limit (including spaces) and/or 2-page limit (whichever comes first).
• Use only original graphics.
• Name files as [SessionNumber]_[Surname].docx
  (Session numbers correspond to the list above, e.g., 4_Novak.docx for a contribution to Environmental Chemistry).
• Submit in DOCX format only; do not submit PDFs.
