Before starting the work
- Install End Note for citation administration – that will help you to make sure the quote is formally correct.
- before printing the cover of the dissertation thesis please contact your Dean´s Office to check all information and send an e-mail with updated information (Czech title of the thesis, English title, supervisor, language of the thesis – Czech or English)
- Download thesis template (ENG) with instruction (available also in Czech)
- Please note that the instructions are for illustrative purposes only, for example, your supervisor may specify different chapter titles/order.

Downloading of cover
- After finishing a manuscript, generate your cover in Cover Generator.
Number of copies and types of covers
- you will hand in 5 printed copies (signed by author) of your thesis with hard cover or paperback cover (or different number, if your Faculty decides so)
Order of sheets
- title sheets (contained automatically in the cover generator)
- statement – must be signed and dated
- summaries in Czech and English
- body of the thesis
Printing
- For non-confidential theses:
- You can have the thesis printed in building B in the Copy Centre of UCT; printed and bound at Powerprint (order in person directly at the branch).
- (KANAG ceased operations in June 2024)
- Before printing/binding it is necessary to enter the thesis in PDF format (abstract in text form) into the SIS system (Instructions).
- If you want to bring an already printed out thesis for binding, then it must include entry sheets as well.
- You can have the thesis printed in building B in the Copy Centre of UCT; printed and bound at Powerprint (order in person directly at the branch).
- For confidential theses:
- Agree with your supervisor on the printing/binding of the thesis.
- Of course, you may have your thesis printed/bound somewhere else; in such case please maintain the type of cover.
Binding
You can have your work bound at PowerPrint or your favorite bookbindery.
