List of all available PhD topics

This page displays all topics offered in Doctoral Study Programmes (DSP) accredited in English. The standard length of study in a full-time DSP is four years.

A new full list of available study programmes and dissertation thesis topics is published on February 17, 2026.

The offer of Dissertation Thesis topics – new listed topics for submitting applications for study from 2026/2027 will be published on February 17, 2026. For some study programmes, topics from 2025/2026 remain visible for the inspiration of applicants and will be replaced in February by newly posted topics.
Students in English-taught study programs are currently not eligible for the basic scholarship. This information will change for the 2025/2026 admission process based on the amendment to the Higher Education Act (the change regarding doctoral income is not yet in effect). If you are interested in studying in English, please get in touch with the International Office in addition to your supervisor.
